Reporting Fellow at the Pulitzer Center
In December 2025, I returned to Puerto Rico as a Post-Graduate Reporting Fellow for the Pulitzer Center to report on water issues and grassroots solutions. As part of my graduate program at Northwester, I reported on and lived in Puerto Rico for six weeks, during which I traveled to dozens of small communities to talk to residents about their water systems and roadblocks to clean water accessibility. This reporting was done in both English and Spanish, my second language, and I publishing this story on community water systems. My next story from my reporting trip funded by the Pulitzer Center will be published in early 2026!

Reporting Fellow at Inside Climate News (Jan. 2025-present freelancing)
After wrapping up my reporting fellowship in September, I am still freelancing for Inside Climate News. I focus on the nexus of climate change, public health and policy in the Chicagoland area and Midwest region, focusing on how state and local governments are finding solutions to the climate crisis and protecting health care accessibility amidst a period of regulatory change. I've covered issues such as the 2001 Roadless Rule, reproductive health care, electric vehicles and more. See my full body of work for ICN here!

At Northwestern, I specialized in Health, Environment and Science reporting. I've covered those topics in Chicago communities with a specific focus on health insurance policies, developments in neuroscience and community-led initiatives to combat climate change.
